Founders Sakina Madhawala and Janu Bhakta imagined a safe space to inspire and empower women during their journey to the dental field. Since the University of Houston did not have a women's based pre-dental organization, Sakina and Janu decided to create WDA, an organization that centers around helping and empowering women who wish to pursue dentistry. 

The Women's Dental Association at the University of Houston, also known as WDA, works to serve our members by offering a variety of services and programs that can strengthen their abilities to help them take their next step in the dental field. By being a part of WDA members can gain experiences and be a versatile dentist in the future.
